Lawyers have a terrible reputation for saying "but on the other hand…." In our opinion, that's not good enough. It's confusing, and it leaves the client feeling like he's doing all the work. So we will often say "if it was me, I'd do X". After all, you're paying us for advice on what to do, or the relative level of risk in a proposed course of action. If other firms just explain the law and leave you wondering how to apply it to your decision, that's their style. It's not ours.
We pride ourselves on the fact that our service just gets better as our relationship with a client develops. Once we've worked with you for a while, for example, we can act in an 'executive' capacity, without needing to call you for instructions on every single minor point - subject, of course, to reporting on what we've done before a formal sign-off.
